Self reinvention

My latest blogging task is self reinvention.

Reinvention:

“verb (used with object)

1.

to invent again or anew, especially without knowing that the invention already exists.
2.

to remake or make over, as in a different form: At 60, he reinvented himself as a volunteer. We have an opportunity to reinvent government.
3.

to bring back; revive: to reinvent trust and accountability.”

I’m not 60, do I need more time to invent myself for the 1st time before I start reinventing myself?

So why don’t I write for now about definition of one’s self.

We start to gain Definition as soon as we are a Zygote, who we are starts to be defined. At what point do we play a role in the definition of ourself?I would say quite early, even from the start but to a gradually varying degree. Throughout our life we continue to define ourself and even redefine ourself, but reinvention suggests more of a complete transformation. What about when one becomes a Christian, is that reinvention rather than just redefinition? in that our old self dies and we are born again I guess so, but the transformation is still a process, (you know, all that salvation-sanctification-glorification stuff).
